Back to top2) Definitions
‘Customer’ means the person or organisation ordering the works.
‘Contractor’ means Envy Electrical Limited.
‘Works’ means the services, labour and materials described in the accepted quote or order.
‘Quote’ means the Contractor’s written proposal, estimate or fixed price offer for the Works.
‘Contract’ means the agreement formed when the Customer accepts a Quote in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
3) Scope of Work and Standards
3.0.1) Standards and compliance
All installations will comply with the latest edition of BS 7671 and any statutory amendments in force.
Where Building Regulations or other statutory notifications are required, the Contractor will submit these only for Works carried out by Envy Electrical Limited.
The Contractor will comply with applicable health and safety law while on Site.
Back to top4) Work included and excluded
Making good, redecoration and filling of chases are excluded from the Quote unless expressly stated.
Replacement fittings may have different footprints or fixing brackets; some holes or unpainted surfaces may remain.
The Contractor will tidy rubble and rubbish but disposal is the Customer’s responsibility unless otherwise stated. Whilst the Contractor will clean as far as reasonably practicable, dust and small debris may remain.
Accessories such as sockets and switches will be white plastic unless otherwise specified.
Standalone PIRs and PIR lights will be set to the Contractor’s standard configuration; further setting changes may incur additional charges.
Outdoor work will not be carried out in the rain due to increased risk; such work will be rescheduled.
Fault finding may be unsuccessful; any additional work required will be quoted before proceeding.
The Contractor will not carry out additions or alterations to rubber insulated (VIR) or lead sheathed cables.
Back to top5) Photographs and promotional use
By accepting the Quote the Customer permits Envy Electrical Limited to photograph and film the Works for promotional use unless the Customer objects in writing prior to commencement.

Back to top7) Quotes and validity
All work is subject to a written Quote before commencement. Quotes are valid for 30 days from issue unless stated otherwise.
Where possible the Contractor will provide fixed price Quotes; if a fixed price cannot be given an estimate will be provided and may be subject to change.
Back to top8) Acceptance and variations
Acceptance of a Quote constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and forms the Contract.
Variations: any additional work not included in the accepted Quote will require a written variation order and price agreement before continuation.
Back to top9) Pricing and hours
Where labour is charged hourly, time is rounded up to the nearest hour.
Standard working hours assumed are 08:00–16:00 Monday to Friday unless otherwise agreed; work outside these hours may attract premium rates.
Quotes are valid for 30 days from issue.
Back to top10) Payment Terms Fees and Title
10.0.1) Deposits and invoices
Installation work will normally require a non-refundable deposit prior to commencement unless otherwise stated.
Invoices are due on receipt. Cash and card payments are accepted.
10.0.2) Late payment and recovery
If an invoice remains unpaid 30 days after the due date, the Contractor may add interest, late payment fees and recover legal costs and any additional labour or recovery costs. Interest will be charged at the statutory rate where applicable.
10.0.3) Cancellation and supplier costs
If the Customer cancels a job prior to start, the deposit is non-refundable. If a job is cancelled through no fault of the Contractor, reasonable costs (including supplier restocking fees) will be charged to the Customer.
10.0.4) Risk and title
Risk in goods passes to the Customer on delivery. Title to goods remains with Envy Electrical Limited until full payment is received.
10.0.5) Administration fees
Changes to Customer information on certificates or reports will incur an £80 + VAT administration fee payable before release of the amended document.
Back to top11) Site Access Welfare Health and Safety
11.0.1) Access and welfare
The Customer must provide safe, unobstructed access and supply potable running water, electricity and a WC free of charge. If these are not available, hire charges for welfare equipment will be passed to the Customer.
If operatives cannot access the property at the agreed time, an £80 + VAT failed access fee will apply. Return visits or waiting time will be charged at £80 + VAT per hour (minimum one hour).
The Customer must ensure the Site is free from hazards and that any required permissions or consents for access are in place.
11.0.2) Site conditions and customer responsibilities
The Customer must remove or protect sensitive equipment and clear obstructions that prevent safe working. The Contractor will not be responsible for damage to items left in the work area.
Where carpet or floor coverings require lifting, the Contractor will use best endeavours to avoid damage; full reinstatement may require a specialist fitter and is not included.
If the Site is deemed unsafe at any time, the Contractor may stop work and advise the Customer of remedial action required.
11.0.3) Behaviour and pets
Abuse of staff will not be tolerated. The Contractor may withdraw from the Site and invoice for work completed plus an £80 + VAT loss-of-work fee.
All pets must be secured and kept away from operatives. Delays caused by pets will be charged and rebooked visits may require the Customer to ensure pets are not present.
Back to top12) Materials Testing Certificates Consumer Units and Safety Checks
12.0.1) Materials and third party supplies
If Customer-supplied materials are faulty or incorrect, additional charges will apply to replace them.
Parts supplied by Envy Electrical Limited that fail within the manufacturer’s warranty period will be replaced in accordance with that warranty. Warranty does not cover accidental damage, misuse or third party alterations.
12.0.2) Testing and certificates
Certificates and Building Regulations notifications issued by Envy Electrical Limited cover only Works installed by Envy Electrical Limited. Certificates may be released only after final payment.
The Contractor cannot issue certificates for third party installations.
12.0.3) Electrical safety checks
The Customer must ensure full access to the consumer unit and identify circuits where possible. Pay As You Go meters must have sufficient credit. Sensitive equipment must be unplugged prior to testing. If the Contractor considers the installation unsafe, testing will stop and remedial works will be quoted.
12.0.4) New consumer units
Installation of a new consumer unit includes basic testing of the whole installation. Any unsafe circuits discovered must be rectified before reconnection and will be charged in addition to the quoted price. Main service bonding upgrades may be required and will be charged separately.
Back to top13) Warranty Liability Complaints and Miscellaneous
13.0.1) Warranty
Envy Electrical Limited warrants its workmanship for 12 months from the invoice date against defects in workmanship. This warranty excludes consumables (lamps, fuses), physical damage, wilful misuse, and any work altered by third parties.
13.0.2) Manufacturer warranties
Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied parts where available; these are subject to the manufacturer’s terms and may be voided by third party alterations.
13.0.3) Limitation of liability
Except for death or personal injury resulting from the Contractor’s negligence, the Contractor’s liability for any claim arising from the Works is limited to the contract value.
13.0.4) Complaints
The Customer must notify the Contractor of any complaint within 3 months of the invoice date. The Contractor will investigate and respond in accordance with its complaints procedure.
13.0.5) Force majeure
Neither party will be liable for delay or failure to perform where such delay or failure is caused by events beyond its reasonable control including but not limited to severe weather, strikes, pandemics, acts of government, or supply chain disruption. Time for performance will be extended for the period of the delay.
13.0.6) Subcontracting
The Contractor may engage subcontractors to perform any part of the Works. The Contractor remains responsible for the subcontracted work.
13.0.7) Insurance
The Contractor maintains public liability insurance and employer’s liability insurance at levels appropriate to its trade. Evidence of insurance can be provided on request.
13.0.8) Data protection
The Contractor will process Customer personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law. Contact details will be retained to administer the Contract and for warranty and safety records. The Customer may request deletion or correction of personal data.
Back to top14) Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. These Terms and Conditions, together with the accepted Quote, constitute the entire agreement between the parties.
Back to top15) Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Acceptance of the Contractor’s Quote constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
